Estrela da Amadora expressed today 'total confidence' that it meets all the requirements to obtain the license to compete in the professional football competitions in the 2026/27 season, denying being subject to penalties. The Reboleira emblem reacted in a statement to the news of the Record newspaper, about a complaint presented by Paços de Ferreira regarding its licensing process in the Portuguese Football Professional League (LPFP). The pacense emblem, which completed the II League of football in 17th and penultimate place and, consequently, was demoted to League 3, alleges that Estrela da Amadora, which finished the I League in 15th place, holds debts to players, clubs and the Tax and Customs Authority, a situation that, if confirmed, would result in non-compliance and would make its registration in the professional championships impossible. The Lisbon club denies, adding that 'as was announced today by various communication media and can be confirmed through the official records of the Portuguese Football League, Estrela da Amadora SAD is not prevented from registering players nor is it subject to any prohibition or 'transfer ban', guaranteeing compliance with all the requirements to compete in the I League of football in 2026/27.
